Though I walk through the valley of the shadow...Thou art with me. Psalm 23:4

We walk through many valleys, the valley of disappointment, discouragement, danger, despair, devastation, darkness and death. It can be a journey from the first word to the last; the path could stop anywhere. Other than death, darkness is perhaps the worst.

For me, dark thoughts seem to come to in the middle of the night. Thoughts about business, finances, family and relationships seem to always loom heavier in the middle of the night than at any other time. The distractions of daytime hours at least are a diversion for our mind. But the darkness, the quietness, the aloneness of night…

For those of you who, like me, occasionally struggle with those kinds of fears and worries remember these words… “Do not doubt in the darkness the One you know to be true in the Light.”

Remember the Savior’s own words, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
