Faith Over Fear
Faith over Fear. This is something that we all need to keep whispering to ourselves, tuck in our hearts and remind all those that we love. These are new circumstances for us to all learn to live in and they are, at the very least, disorienting. The countries in which we live, the communities that we call home and serve have been turned upside down, and it’s scary. No one knows for sure how this will ultimately unfold and it’s most important during the uncertain times of our lives that we live steadfastly in faith. The creator of the Universe, the God who designed our bodies, the Lord of the Heavens and of Earth…. Is in control. Rest in his promises. Live with certainty of His love for His people. Know that we are going to be okay, even if things get worse… they will get better. Have faith dear children. Do not let your fear guide you.
In the meantime, while we are all practicing social distancing, if you need a place to focus your bound up energy, please pray all the prayers that you can spare for our missionaries, who live in places and serve in communities with very limited access to healthcare. If you find yourself bored and cooped up in the house, think about writing some of these families a letter of encouragement. Or perhaps if you find the 20 second hand washing to be redundant, use that time to talk to God, pray for all those who you love and when you think of it, ask God to give CHN guidance as we head into the next several weeks. Our team and our missionary friends are our first priority, so for now we are choosing to wait and see as to whether or not we move forward with our plans to go to Vietnam in the Fall or to postpone.
Our Faith flourishes when we spend time with God and one thing we can all do is pray.
This should be a time when the Lord’s children shine with the love of Christ. We know how this story ends. We know the promises that have been made. Let the Glory of our God shine through you in all that you say and do.
Many blessings,
Tori May and the CHN Team
