CHN and Covid-19
This newsletter will be a little different: instead of doing an In The News about CHN or introduce you to a family, we are going to touch on what is going on with some of our missionary friends around the world. We know that this Covid-19 virus is global and let us remember to pray for all our brothers and sisters around the globe as well as our local churches and families and friends.

“Friends, how are you?”
We simply posed this question and here are a few replies:
“I’m doing alright in my little medieval village (South of France). We can’t leave home without a paper that permits a few necessary reasons, we have to always go alone such as driving to a store. If we walk our dog or go jogging, it can’t be further away from our homes than 1km and max 1h per day. Most of my team lives together so they meet for prayer, intercession and some teaching while two of us who stay off base meet through Zoom.” – Franziska
“In Paraguay, we are safe. Day 20 of national lock down and curfew! Our biggest concern is low funding next month due to supporting churches not being able to congregate. We know the Lord will provide!” – Jackie
“Still stranded just by Gatwick, waiting to get back home to The Gambia. Doing well.” – Paddy
“We at Refuge at Green Mountain (formerly Life Impact Brazil) are in full quarantine at this time in Monte Verde, Brazil. We are unable to host ministry guests for an unknown period of time. We praise our Lord for good health for us and our little town. We currently have no cases of Covid-19 in our entire region, but there are numerous cases around 100 miles away. Please pray for the upcoming flu season in Brazil. We may be double-whammed with potential flu and Covid-19.” – Brad
“Thank you so much for reaching out…we are safe (in Costa Rica) and are following government’s orders to stay home and only leave for essentials. Hard to be away from family members and loved ones (physical long distance) especially during this global crisis so asking for prayer specifically in this area.❤️” – Candace
“I’m in Honduras and doing okay. We see in lockdown going into our 3rd week. Please pray for continued safety and protection for myself and our national staff. Also pray for the poor, all around the world, they were poor before this crisis and are struggling even more now. They need God to provide abundantly more right now!!! God bless you all.” – Kathy

Eagles Rest at White Church
Nestled in the picturesque White Church Valley, Eagles Rest is located in a charming 19th century farmhouse. Located only 1/2 mile from the beautiful Finger Lakes Trail in Brooktondale, New York, the resort’s ministry is based on Isaiah 40:31 (but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint).
Owner Dorann Martin tells us that as having traveled across the U.S. as music missionaries for 45 years and meeting several pastors, he realized they needed an affordable place to stay to relax with their family and/or seek the Lord’s will for their ministry. So they decided to open Eagles Rest. Along with walking trails on their 8 acres, there are also three NY State Parks, beautiful gorges and waterfalls, Cayuga Lake, Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Museums. There’s plenty of space to walk and think and places to visit.
Visitors can look forward to fresh home made muffins upon arrival, custom cooked breakfast which can include organic eggs from local free range chickens or delicious French Toast served with 100% Pure New York State Maple Syrup. There is also kitchen available for guests to use for other meals. There is also a baby grand piano in the common living room.
The property, which has been around since the 1800’s, has been in their family since the early 1900’s. They opened it up to pastors and missionaries 9 years ago.
