Bordering the Monongahela National Forest, natural beauty abounds. Summit Lake, the Cranberry and Cherry Rivers, the Falls of Hills Creek, Cranberry Glades nature area, and miles of scenic drives await you. The best trout fishing in the state, hunting for deer, squirrel, wild turkey, geese, duck and black bear, walking and hiking trails, cycling, kayaking and golf are popular sports. Civil War sites will peak the interest of history buffs. THE COTTAGE, located behind THE GUEST HOUSE, – a wonderful retreat. A blue and white nautical theme will greet guests to this one bedroom, bath, kitchen and living room charmer all completely remodeled for your enjoyment. Tastefully decorated with both vintage and new furnishings, the living and dining rooms invite you to come in and make yourself at home. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare your favorite full course meal or just a quick snack. The sunroom with trundle bed offers views of the beautiful wooded hills - a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. The newly decorated adjoining bathroom and laundry facility complete the first floor. Upstairs, two lovely bedrooms and a quiet reading area await you. The Greenbriar Room features vintage furniture and luxurious linens on the queen bed. The Garden Room's carved double bed, pastel, handpieced quilts and white wicker accessories is a favorite of many. Both rooms assure a restful night sleep on quality bedding. The upstairs bathroom, spacious and light, is a great place to start your day. The original claw foot tub begs for a hot bubble bath as you relax with your favorite book. directions : Richwood is located in the heart of WV. Traveiers coming from the southern part of the state, take Interstate 19 north. As you near Summersville, take Route 39 east to Nettie (about 20 minutes). At the only traffic light, turn right following Route 39. Follow signs into Richwood - another 20 minutes. For those coming from the north, travel south on Interstate 19. Before you reach Summersville, exit Route 55 off of Interstate 19 at the Muddlety/Richwood exit. Follow Route 55 east. At the Muddlety intersection stop sign, you will pick up Route 41 North. Turn left onto Rt. 55E/ 41N into Craigsville - about a 20 minute drive. At the only signal in Craigsville, turn right. Continue following Route 55 another 20 minutes. This will bring you onto Main Street/Richwood. What if I missed my turnoff from I-19? No problem. Whether you were coming from the north or south, continue into the city of Summersville. Watch for Rt. 41 NORTH. For those traveling north on I-19, watch for WalMart on your left. Rt. 41N is just ahead - you turn right onto Rt 41N. For those traveling south on I-19, watch for the GoMart on your left located on Rt. 41N. Turn left onto Rt. 41N. Now continue on Rt. 41N. You will pick up Rt. 55 East a few miles ahead. Follow Rt. 55 E through Craigsville and on into Richwood. Continue through town on Main Street past the only signal to the Exxon station. Follow the highway as it turns left. East Walnut Street is the first street on your left. THE GUEST HOUSE is the fourth house on your left - 76 E Walnut Street. Your hosts reside next door at 78 E.
