The home that is now called the Dairy Manor Bed & Breakfast was built in 1957 as the homestead of the Mclean 100 acre dairy. Now, only three acres remain. Located ¼ mile from Interstate I 30, the B&B is only 45 minutes from Downtown Dallas and 1 hour from Canton. The home is partially constructed of items from the Byrd Estate that was located on the corner of Utopia and Walnut. Some of those architectural features include the six columns, beveled leaded glass work surrounding the front door and hard wood floors on the second level of the home that date back to the turn of the century. The home underwent extensive restoration in late 2002 to return to its former splendor. In addition to the bed & breakfast, the home is also used for various special events including; dinners, weddings, family reunions, class reunions, baby showers, Bar-B-Q’s, garden clubs, bridge clubs & bridal portraits. There is a Texas sized gazebo on the property to accommodate a wide variety of outdoor events. A parking lot is adjacent to the Manor that will provide space for over 200 vehicles for larger events. The home will accommodate 8 to 10 overnight guests comfortably and includes a hot breakfast every morning. We have a wide variety of services; all you need do is ask. With prior notice we will arrange for one of our local businesses to provide a massage, manicure or pedicure for a reasonable price here at the manor. Or simply relax in a rocker on the front porch. We have hundreds of books waiting to be read or even Readers Digests versions for those who dont have long to relax. For the business traveler, we offer computer access, DSL as well as fax machine access. We are glad to help you with early or late check outs or breakfast times. We can even make your morning breakfast a working breakfast by allowing you to invite additional guests. Let us make it work for you!
