Inn Detail

Pennsbury Inn

An historically prominent bed & breakfast in the heart of the Brandywine Valley offering exceptional accommodations. On acreage purchased from William Penn?s Commissioners in the 17th century, Pennsbury Inn's original dwelling house, erected in 1714 of Brandywine Blue Granite rubble stone, was enlarged mid-century by a stone addition of surpassing proportions with the front facade clad in hand-molded Flemish Bond brick. A 19th century clapboard extension housed both coachman and servant's quarters as it became an inn . A 20th century addition contains a garden view dining area. The inn proudly presents a blend of colonial heritage and country elegance. It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places. There are many things to do and see within the immediate vicinity of the inn, including the Brandywine River Museum, Winterthur (fine American antiques and gardens), and Longwood Gardens, the world's premiere gardens.
